We didn’t know any of the following about Justin Johnson when our friend Jakob Lodwick at College Humor introduced him to us in 2005 as the right guy to make live action promos for Channel Frederator; we only know him as “Justin”, his cell phone number in Orlando, Florida, and that his email handle was “justinsuperstar.” We begged and pleaded for him to pick up his household and move to New York. We are in awe of his talent.
“Justin Johnson was born on a typical May morning in Eau Claire,
Wisconsin. 80 degrees below zero, with 20 foot high drifts of snow
threatening to break through the fragile walls of Sacred Heart Hospital.
Several years later, when the snow thawed in a rare above-freezing day,
he attended a small Lutheran K-8 known, creatively as Eau Claire
Lutheran School.
Justin jumped between both a private and a public education in high
school, finally graduating a semester early. This lead time gave him the
perfect opportunity to prepare for college by studiously sleeping in
until at least noon every day.
Finally higher education called, and he was accepted as one of 30 in the
fledgling Multimedia Design program at the University of
Wisconsin-Stout. So fledgling, in fact, that there weren’t any actual
qualified teachers. Following a year and a half of mismanagement and
confusion, fed up with academia, Justin decided to leave Wisconsin for
sunnier pastures in California.
Videoblogging his way across the country and pulling the odd freelance
job to placate his rumbling tummy, the months of adventure helped him
become a better editor, more dedicated videographer, and (arguably) a
better human being.
After living in San Francisco, San Diego, Toronto, and Orlando, Justin
and his beautiful girlfriend Marissa finally settled back in Northern
California … until some guy named ‘Fred‘ called and dragged him away
to his dream job in the bustling metropolis of New York City.”

What else can be said about Justin? He truly is a superstar. He’s always creating hilariously fun work, yelling at me about my iced coffee habits, and promoting our networks.
