My favorite brands: Oxo International
By Fred.Spending a long time in the business has made me as myopic as anyone; it seems hard to believe anyone has anything on their mind other than my industries. Invariably, when I’m thinking about great products and companies I think of stuff like [adult swim] or Apple or even The Ramones. But sure enough there’s a big world of star companies making and keeping promises to us every day like JetBlue, Whole Foods, and OXO International.
If one goes routing around the OXO website, there one would find a mission statement. That’s right, a company of lowly omelet turners, tea kettles, and measuring cups has a mission statement (”OXO International is dedicated to providing innovative consumer products that make everyday living easier.”) And, by the way, a mission they fulfill in a completely satisfying way.Seriously, this company is dedicated to difference. It feels like they’re interested in my experience with their products rather than their margins. Which, of course, leads to impressively great business for them in the end.
“Well designed, high functioning kitchen tools,” my wife says when I asked her for a description of our favorite, only seemingly pedestrian consumer company. I’d add they’re smarter than they should have a right to be with every new product a winner, easy to use. And their product lines have expanded exponentially with rarely a misstep. We’ve been customers for more than fifteen years, an almost impossible track record in our world of quick obsolescence. OXO’s never let us down. That’s why they’re one of my favorite brands.

I love OXO too! the nice soft black rubber fits so well in your hand! and the chunky-ness of the handles really makes their stuff easy to work with

And I completely forgot to mention the simple, blinding-glimpse-of-the-obvious genius of their “Good Grips” claim!

My favourite brand is Cadbury’s!
I have grown up with the brand and can relate many happy family celebrations such as birthdays, Christmas’, Easter etc with Cadbury’s in some way. My memories are connected with Cadbury’s and each product can be a cue to bring my memories to life.
I was happy to hear the other day that Whisper would be making a comeback! I was sad when it vanished as it felt like a part of my heritage had gone forever. But now I can look forward to many more chocolate bars!
Long live Cadbury’s!
